Vote for me as a Red River Co-op Director because I have extensive experience with co-operatives previously serving on the Board of the Red River Co-op for 9 years (Chair of the Nominations/Governance Committee and Audit Committee) and the Homewood Co-op for 3 years which has offered me a greater understanding of the needs and challenges facing co-operatives in the urban and rural markets. I am an experienced operating and finance executive with success in negotiating and structuring agreements with corporate entities in many industries. I have a vast consulting background working with operations management in identifying needs and developing solutions and have also served as a director on a number of private company boards. My focus at RRC will be to increase equity/cash back to members, improving/maintaining full-service, and renovating older facilities/adding locations/services.

Red River has a proud history and a bright future. I want to help shape that future. A lifelong Winnipeg resident, I am a community and corporate leader. I’ve had the honour of serving as Co-Chair of the Institute of Corporate Directors (Manitoba), Chair of the Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre, President of the Law Society of Manitoba, and most recently, Chair of St. Mary’s Academy. I practiced law with Taylor McCaffrey for 11 years before serving over 18 years in leadership roles as General Counsel at the CWB and the Winnipeg Airports Authority, advising their boards and executives through some of their most challenging times. I currently sit as an independent mediator and arbitrator and am Chief Legal Officer at Vexxit.com, a Winnipeg tech start-up. I have the skills and experience to help guide Red River and respectfully ask for your support in this election.

Please vote for me. I have a strong affinity for the Co-operative model wherein, among other outstanding benefits, the Co-op returns its’ annual profits via patronage dividends to its’ member-owners. This distinctly sets the Co-op business model apart from all others. Nothing else comes close. I have worked as CFO for the past 10 years for a Canadian Co-operative Federation, home officed in Winnipeg, providing service and support to/for local member Co-op owners across all three (3) of the Canadian Arctic territories.
I have worked as a CFO, CEO & President, COO and VP in various industries over 29+ years. In addition, I have spent numerous years improving my Board Governance knowledge and acumen via professionally recognized Board governance programs where professional designations are sought. To date, I hold two (2) of these Board Governance designations in good standing and am currently working on another with subject matter in environmental, social and governance issues. I am a B. Comm. (Hons.) graduate with the following professional designations in good standing: CPA, CA, CIP (Hons.), CRM, RF, CAFM, CoopD.D, ICD.D, GCB.D (candidate).
