FUEL GOOD DAY 2024
Actions$65,000 Raised for Children’s Rehabilitation Foundation on Fuel Good Day!
On Tuesday, September 17, 2024, a record-breaking $65,000 was raised on Fuel Good Day at Red River Co-op Gas Bars for Children’s Rehabilitation Foundation. Five-cents of every litre of fuel and one-dollar from every Co-operative Coffee and Big Cool sold at all Red River Co-op Gas Bars was donated to the charity’s Adaptive Equipment Program, which is dedicated to supporting children and youth living with physical and cognitive disabilities.“We are excited to share that the funds from Fuel Good Day will purchase twelve bikes and five iPads for children who need them,” said Craig Gilpin, CEO of Red River Co-op. “The new equipment will transform their lives, breaking down barriers and filling their days with joy, helping these children discover all the wonderful possibilities that await them.”
Adaptive equipment plays a pivotal role in empowering children and youth with disabilities to lead fulfilling lives. Each piece of equipment serves as a catalyst for growth and independence. The bikes foster physical activity and social engagement, and iPads provide a voice to those with complex communication challenges. The specialized bikes and iPads are so much more than recreational tools - they are pathways to inclusion, freedom, and joy for children with disabilities.
“Fuel Good Day was incredible and special. Experiencing the enthusiasm and spirit of the initiative was heartwarming, especially engaging with everyone who contributed to this very important cause,” said Jane Kidd-Hantscher, Executive Director of Children’s Rehabilitation Foundation. “We are grateful to Red River Co-op and look forward to the positive impact the new bikes and iPads will have for the youth we support.”
Red River Co-op thanks all members and customers who fueled up at Red River Co-op Gas Bars on Tuesday, September 17th to help give children and youth the adaptive equipment they need to live more independently.
